No titles.

London.

Good shot of train coming to halt at Victorian Line tube platform. We see Queen Elizabeth, about to open the new Victoria Line underground service, putting a coin in a machine to get her tube ticket, then going through a ticket barrier at Green Park tube station.

Good shots of the Queen and entourage on the escalator. M/S of the Queen in the driver's cab of the tube train as they set off. View from rear of train as we go through the tunnel. Point of view shot from front of train as we zoom along towards Oxford Circus.

Train pulls in to newly-built station of Oxford Circus. Quick shot of sign showing the route between Oxford Circus and Victoria, where the line ended at this time. The Queen gets into a tube carriage to make the return journey - the first reigning monarch ever to ride on London's Underground! She apparently took her first tube journey 30 years before.

Commentator explains the finished tube line will stretch from Walthamstow to Brixton. On a platform at Victoria tube station, the Queen unveils a plaque to commemorate the opening of the Victoria Line.

Several shots of people buying tickets from machines and going through barriers to get to the tube platforms.

Note: the same Victoria Line coaches are still in service today (2002).
