ISLAND OF THE BLIND DEAD (2015) is a fan made faux feature film trailer which pays homage to Tombs of the Blind Dead (1972).
The short is the brain child of film makers Emma Dark and Merlyn Roberts. Both Emma and Merlyn are huge horror and Tombs of the Blind Dead fans.
This homage was made whilst holidaying in St. George South, Corfu. It came as a last minute brain wave after several days trapped inside during storms and was never intended to have high production values, as such it does look rather the part though! A huge thanks to the local amateur dramatics society who enthusiastically welcomed the idea and did a fantastic job of bringing their characters to life on screen.
Island of the Blind Dead imagines there may have been a fifth film in the series, which then became lost, the trailer subsequently recovered and restored some years later.
The short is written, directed and produced jointly by Emma Dark and Merlyn Roberts (who also star in the film as the bikini clad Jeannie and the resurrected templar respectively). Edited by Emma Dark.
