It opened the 1992 New York film festival and played at more than forty festivals world-wide including being shown in competition in Critics' Week at Cannes. It won first prize at the festival Tous Courts in Aix-en-Provence, and the Kino award in Melbourne. 35mm prints are held by the Cinémathèque Française and the British Film Archive.
