It began on April 27, 2016 at Marlins Park in Miami, Florida, and ended on October 7 of that year at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Its title is a reference to the song "Formation", played by Beyoncé in the sporting event. tour tickets were made available for pre-order two days after the Super Bowl and for general sale on February 16, 2016, with a portion of them being donated to help local programs of United Way of America and the water crisis in Flint, Michigan .
