Max Zhang Jin is a Chinese martial artist best known for portraying the fictional Wing Chun master, Cheung Tin-chi, in “Ip Man 3”, a role he will reprise in his own spin-off. Having been a former Wushu competitor (ranked as a "National Athlete" in China), his film career began by stunt doubling Zhang Ziyi in “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon”. Zhang Jin would later prove his acting skill by winning the 33rd Hong Kong Film Award for Best Supporting Actor through his performance in another Ip Man biopic, “The Grandmaster”. He has also played the antagonist in two Hong Kong martial arts films; “SPL 2” and “Rise of the Legend” and is set to appear in several upcoming films; “The Brink”, “The Fixer”, and “Pacific Rim: Uprising”, the sequel to Guillermo Del Toro’s 2013 sci-fi monster blockbuster.
