The Buried Dog (2017)

Hans is in crisis. His working life has just come to an abrupt end and his family does not seem to pay any attention to him.

Suddenly, a stray dog stands at the door and desires entry into the family's home. While wife Yvonne immediately falls in love with the animal, it becomes becomes more and more clear to Hans how much he himself is superfluous in the face of the new "rival". When the dog disappears one day and a weird stranger offers the family his help, things get completely out of control for Hans.

The Buried Dog is a black comedy about the fear of being replaceable and the inability to talk about it. About the wrong way of handling of problems and about the need to face up to the truth - even if it is so bitter.

Familienvater Hans (Justus von Dohnányi) steckt in der Krise. Sein Arbeitsleben hat soeben ein abruptes Ende gefunden und seine Familie scheint ihn auch nicht mehr richtig zu beachten.
Da steht auf einmal ein streunender Hund vor der Türe und begehrt Einlass in das Familienleben. Während Ehefrau Yvonne (Juliane Köhler) sich augenblicklich in das Tier verliebt, wird Hans im Angesicht des neuen "Rivalen" mehr und mehr klar, wie sehr er selbst überflüssig ist. Als der Hund eines Tages verschwindet und ein merkwürdiger Fremder (Georg Friedrich) der Familie seine Hilfe anbietet, laufen für Hans die Dinge komplett aus dem Ruder…

DER HUND BEGRABEN ist eine schwarze Komödie über die Angst, ersetzbar zu sein und die Unfähigkeit, darüber zu reden. Über den falschen Umgang mit Problemen. Und über die Notwendigkeit, den richtigen Moment für die Wahrheit zu erwischen - auch wenn diese noch so bitter ist.
