Before Medal of Honor, most first person shooters were set in fantasy locations with unrealistic depictions of war. But this game wanted to bring a new level of realism to the genre, a move that would send shockwaves through the industry. You are an elite American solider who must complete multiple missions in German occupied Europe. You do not have any squad mates, so it is just you against the Nazis. The game is incredibly fun but most importantly, it proved that first person shooters can be realistic and work on consoles.
