THE FIVE O'CLOCK WHISTLE ~ Ina Ray Hutton & Her Melodears ~ 1940 ~ Okeh Records.
Ina Ray Hutton aka " The Blonde Bombshell of Rhythm" and later "The Queen of Name Bands", is the older, half sister of June Hutton, who had sung with The Quintones, The Stardusters, The Pied Pipers, and then went solo.
The band heard here is her all male band, which was organized in late 1939 after she dropped her all female orchestra. She was the wife of trumpeter & bandleader, Randy Brooks, to whom she married in 1949. She was easily the best looking orchestra leader in the band business ! She passed away at 67 years old in Ventura, California in February 1984.
