Her first appearance was on August 9th 1930, on the popular Talkartoon cartoon series. Today she is featured on a wide range of merchandise from gift bags and collectibles to earrings and even fancy dress costumes.
It's Betty's flirtatious persona that really boosted her popularity. She was the first strong, powerful woman figure on TV before Madonna and Marilyn Monroe came along.
