Pantera started out as a glam rock/glam metal band. Between 1983-1985 Pantera released 3 albums in this style "Metal Magic" 1983, "Projects In The Jungle" 1984 and "I am The Night" 1985.
Their vocalist at the time was Terry Glaze, who later changed his name to Terrance Lee. After his departure from Pantera Terrance went on to form the glam rock band Lord Tracy.
Over the years Pantera have ignored their first three releases and act as if they never existed.
I became a fan of Pantera in 1984 on the release of "Projects In The Jungle". Though the band may disregard these albums, they are nonetheless fantastic pieces of work in the genre. If you are fand of Motley Crue, Ratt, Skid Row Etc, you will love these albums. They are as good, if not better, than anything going on at the time.
