Producer Sam Katzman's follow-up to the phenomenally successful, ATOM MAN VS. SUPERMAN, was this high seas saga that chronicled the quest by sea-faring adventurer, Jeff Drake (Buster Crabbe) for a fabulous fortune in diamonds stolen at the end of World War II.
Better than average with some new action sequences shot at sea combined with footage from Crabbe's previous serial, THE SEA HOUND (1947) and the nifty gimmick of a pirate raiders using a submersible speedboat, the cliffhanger is one of the more enjoyable cliffhangers from the 1950s.
