For the musical "Traummusik", Peter Kreuder composed "Traummusik", "Señor und Señorita" and "Liebling mach' musik", all sung by Lizzi Waldmüller. "Du gehst.." became a Peter Kreuder standard, the other songs are less well known. I will present "Traummusik", which is a somewhat dramatic, haunting melody and in the following video "Señor und Señorita". They are the original soundtracks so the sound quality is not always excellent...
"Traummusik" dealt with the conflict between "popular" and "classical" a composer unable to find succes with his classical compositions, becomes a composer of musicals... In the meantime his former girlfriend becomes a famous operasinger... Will she be able to help him find succes as a classical composer?
The movie starred Lizzi Waldmüller as Odette, musical singer; Marte Harell as Carla, the operasinger; Werner Hinz as the composer and Beniamino Gigli plays himself (Marte Harell's singing voice was dubbed by famed Italian soprano Mafalda Favero).
Slidehow of the stars of the picture and some pictures of the movie, taken from "Das Programm von heute" and the "Tobis Magazine" (distributed in Dutch and French in Belgium during the war). The movieposter, curiously, is a Belgian post-war poster as the movie was redistributed in the early 1950's.
