"Mountain Lodge" Director John Rich. Writers Sherwood Schwartz, Phil Sharp, Jesse Goldstein. Unbeknownst to each other, Brad and Joan both use the same $1,100.00 in their "Life Can be Beautiful Fund" to purchase a mountain cabin and a boat, respectively.
Joan tries to convince Brad to cancel the cabin purchase. He refuses. In cahoots with sister Bev (real-life daughter Beverly Wills), and Bev's boyfriend Tom (Tom Peters), she concocts a plan to discourage Brad from buying the cabin by sabotaging it and Brad's experience there. The whole chicanerous enterprise of course backfires and Joan and Brad are left alone without food and firewood. Those familiar with the series might remember this episode for the turtle they catch. Joan can't bear to make soup out of it, so she serves Brad something a little more rubbery, much to his own chagrin!
