"Monkeyshines" Director John Rich. Writers Phil Sharp, Sherwood Schwartz, Jesse Goldstein. This adventurous episode opens with Brad counseling Millicent and Huntley Potter (IMJ regulars Martha Wentworth and Richard "Dick" Elliott), who have just lost their dear old rich Uncle Cyrus. They are upset because said uncle bequeathed the entire
half-million dollar estate to his pet chimpanzee, Marty. Should Marty meet an untimely demise, the estate would then go to the Potters. Brad orders that the court take temporary custody of Marty for a week until a complete background check is done. He brings Marty home to an at first reluctant Joan. She and sister Bev (Beverly Wills) eventually fall in love with the cute little fella'. Joan takes him to The Martell Shop, an exclusive men's haberdasher, where a snooty salesman (Alan DeWitt, another IMJ frequent flyer,) fits him with a snappy suit. Ultimately Brad can find no grounds to hold Marty. He and the Potters are enroute to assume custody when Joan, in a panic, sends Bev away with him. He returns, and there're all sorts of physical hijinks as Joan tries to hide him and they all go in a mad chase after him. Arthur Walsh, Marty's real-life trainer, makes a brief appearance in the last scene. A really fun, rarely seen episode.
