"Theatrical Can-Can" Director Marc Daniels, written by Sherwood Schwartz & Arthur Stander. Joan's women's club is in dire financial straights. The girls hope to raise money by putting on an amateur theatrical, a drama of the "old south" entitled "The Colonel's Daughter, or Mr. & Mrs. South." Brad's lawyer's club is having a "smoker" and Brad is in charge of booking the entertainment. Joan begs him to hire the women's club players. Brad tells her he wants a line of chorus girls. Desperate is as desperate does, and so the girls perform "Ta-Ra-Ra Boom-dee-ay" in full chorine regalia. Brad is appalled, and issues a firm "NO!" He then finds out that the very conservative mayor and comissioner will be in attendance. He begs Joan to do the play. She agrees, and in her haste tells everyone to go to Mayflower Room of the Hotel Zebra instead of the Zebra Room of the Hotel Mayflower. Needless to say, Joan does the entire play by herself, playing all the characters! What a beautiful thing to watch! A favorite episode.
