"Brad's Class Reunion" Director Marc Daniels. Writers Arthur Stander, Philip Sharp. Not to be confused with "Joan's Haircut," the second season closer, which also features a reunion in the plot. This was director Marc Daniels' first IMJ episode. He stayed on through the rest of the first season. This episode is also a first for Elvia Allman (the foreperson in the "I Love Lucy" Candy Factory episode). She plays Joan's Aunt Vera, and is featured in a handful of season one episodes. Aunt Vera is as close a "partner in crime" as Joan would ever get. As was the case with many of IMJ's featured players, Elvia Allman worked with Joan in the past . (The 1942 feature film "Sweetheart of the Fleet." -- go to facebook.com/joandaviscomedian for the photos). Hal Smith is featured as Charlie Henderson, who in later episodes expands his role as the husband of Mabel (Geraldine Carr). Brad's going to a class reunion with Joan's blessing until she comes across a yearbook essay Brad penned describing "The Ideal Woman, and her name...is Jeannie." Joan sees a photo of a very attractive girl named Jeannie in the yearbook and so she tries everything to get Brad to stay home. She and Aunt Vera do a variation of the famous vaudeville routine "packing and unpacking," where they put clothing in a suitcase, take it out and put it back in again. This routine was an Abbott and Costello staple. A simple, funny, early episode.
