"Ballet" Director Hal Walker. Writers Arthur Stander, Phil Sharp. Two separate stories in this episode It opens in judge's chambers where Brad is counseling a troubled married couple, played by Doris Singleton and Robert Jellison (Caroline Appleby and Bobby the Bellboy from "I Love Lucy"). Brad tells the story of how when Joan was once lethargic and listless, he suggested exercise and encouraged her to join a beginner's ballet class. She did, and the result was quite beneficial for her, and for us as viewers! In the second act of the episode, Brad calls Joan and tells her that Mr. Fletcher, the president of the Bar Association, will be joining them for dinner at home. On the way home, Brad splashes mud on a PYT named Dolores with his car and offers to buy her a new dress. They bump into Mr. Fletcher in the store and Brad is compelled to introduce Dolores as his wife. Brad brings her home and of course Joan goes ballistic. To complicate matters, Joan's football-hero high school sweetheart shows up. Very funny physical business in this half. Lots of fun. Mr. Fletcher is played by prolific actor Russell Hicks, who appeared with Joan in 1936's "Bunker Bean" and in 1941's "Hold That Ghost."
