Dolly Jacobs, legendary circus performer, world-renowned aerialist and "Queen of the Air" is on The Red Couch.
One of the premiere American circus artists of all time, Dolly started her career as an aerialist in 1976, at Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus. She followed in the footsteps of her father—Lou Jacobs—one of the greatest clowns in American history, and for eight seasons, thrilled audiences with the Roman Rings. She joined The Big Apple Circus in 1984 and also toured extensively throughout the world.
In 1994, Dolly and her husband Pedro Reis created Circus Sarasota to preserve Florida's circus arts legacy. Their mission is to provide a circus that represents the circus arts at the highest level and that is linked to the community through performance, education and integrated arts programming. Dolly has been honored with the highest circus awards including being named "Dame du Cirque," winning the Silver Clown award presented by Prince Albert of Monaco, induction into the Circus Ring of Fame, and Circus Celebrity at the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art.
