Irina Baronova (1920 - 2008) was the child of White Russians refugees. Living in Romania, then in Paris, she became - aged 11 - one of the international rising star of the Ballet. Working with Balanchine, Massine, touring the world and living a dedicated life, with talent, humour, generosity, intelligence, wit, simplicity and charm. She eventually married Cecil Tennant, a major agent of the English scene. Through him, she was introduced to Vivien Leigh & Laurence Olivier. "The Curse" is the account of the most chilling scene, that I ever heard, as far as VL & LO are concerned. It was told to Richard Fidler & Jane Fynes-Clinton, on ABC Queensland, on thursday, 27 october 2005 (to listen to the full interview www.abc.net.au/queensland/stories/s1491340.htm). Her biography "Irina, Ballet, life and love" is published at University Press of Florida.
