Goddess Durga, seated on her Lion, proceeds towards the battlefield, where Raktbeejs and Devtas are fighting. As she arrives the spot, Goddess Maha Kali appears out from her. Kali starts killing all the raktbeej, without allowing even one drop of his blood to fall over the earth, and collects it in her kappar (container). From every single drop of his blood fallen over the earth, a new Raktbeej would appear. Even after killing the demons, She gets so thristy for blood that she attacks the devtas too. As she moves forward in search more blood, Mahadev sleeps over her path. She accidently keeps her right leg on Mahadev, being unaware of his presence and takes her tongue out, being ashamed for the same.
