Take note this is an official spoiler alert! We're just over a month away from the much-anticipated season 4 premiere of The Vampire Diaries and we've got some more spoilers coming your way. First off --- we have yet another newbie making a way into Mystic Falls. David Alpay, best known for his work in "The Tudors" and "The Borgais," has just been confirmed for the role of Professor Shane, a college professor at the local university who shows a particular interest in the supernatural and has some kind of history with Bonnie's family.
Next up --- Paul Wesley hasn't exactly been keeping quiet about his expectations for each of the characters in season 4. In a recent interview, the TVD star revealed ---- quote "Actually, I don't want anyone to end up with Elena -- it would be far more interesting and profound if she basically said goodbye to the two brothers, and vanished in to thin air, and then maybe got a nice boyfriend, like Matt Donovan, the human ... the only human on the cast." Hmm --- could Elena and Matt rekindle their romantic past?
And speaking of romance --- another rumored hookup being discussed for season 4 is between Damon and newcomer Hayley, played by Phoebe Tonkin. But not so fast --- executive producer Julie Plec instantly squashed any hope that Damon might be finally settling down in a response to a fan's overconfident tweet that not only predicted the rumored "Dayley" romance but also attacked the show for being too predictable. A clearly irritated Ms. Plec set the record straight and tweeted back to the fan, "You're a jerk and you're wrong. Predict this." So what do you guys think is going to happen in season 4?
