IF YOU LOVE BURLESQUE, YOU CAN'T LOOSE IT...

Synopsis

Fans say "She's beautiful, damned, creative and a bit "vintage". Janet Fischietto, sensual and ironic, is one of the most popular and beloved burlesque dancers in Italy and in the rest of Europe. Twenty-four years, from Milan, a Visual Arts degree, Janet has approached the burlesque in the last five years.
Passionate about dance and acting, she's attracted by metamorphosis and the circus world, particularly from freak of the Twenties and Thirties, and she defines herself "The Circus Lady on the New Golden Age". Fascinated by icons as Dita Von Teese, she has developed a personal style, she works daily and created a character that turns into chameleon by "sigarettaia" in tiger, into a snake woman. Costumes that she dresses and acts in her plays with flair and originality, like the tattoos that has all over her body. "Life as art and art as life", said Oscar Wilde. "Makes your life the greatest show" is Janet's motto. Exuberant and ambitious, she's an aesthete and admits to have "A propensity to get in shows" and considers her work a way of life. She's sure that if "You're burlesque on the stage you always are. At least a while". On the stage Janet shows her true soul, she's a dreamer, vain, bright and funny. She winks, smiles, plays to amaze and surprise her audience. We followed her during her travels to Paris to attend her performances at Moulin Rouge and we were in the backstage, to admire her art and discover her world. A world populated by artists that share with her the passion for burlesque, as her young colleague and friend Dolly Lamour and Virgil Ricconi, their manager and mentor. Immersed in the present world with strong links to the past, because it is inspired by the past, approaching characters as charming Countess Virginia Oldoini from Castiglione, who mould on herself as a art work or an equilibrist like Barbette. We have attended her dance lessons, because "burlesque needs study, culture, musical knowledge, curiosity, research. To prepare a three minutes show we take five months" she explained. We have been with her through the streets of Milan, in shops that sell articles and vintage pieces, looking for cloths, laces, glitters and sequins that create and embellish customs, personally supervised, as the make-up. Because if in a burlesque show counts humor, eroticism and acts, is also true that "even make-up and costumes are important". Because seduction is an art.
