Megan walks Adam through the lab. We meet Francis (Frank) Pritchard, the head of technology at Sarif Industries and Adam's support throughout the game. We are also introduced to a number of scientists, as well as the experimental Typhoon augmentation. The cutscene also establishes the arguments for and against human augmentation, and discusses Adam's previous profession as a member of the SWAT team.
Things you may want to note (may contain spoilers!)
* The first lab is labeled Biosafety Level 2, indicating that the lab contains mild infectious diseases.
* One of the scientists (Eric) mentions ordering equipment from Page Industries, owned by Bob Page. It has major ties to the Majestic 12 (MJ12).
* The music that plays when Adam and Frank exit the elevator is the UNATCO theme from the original Deus Ex.
* The GPL devices that Frank discusses with Athene become critical later in the game.
* In Sarif's office, we hear Sarif and his Aide discussing Hugh Darrow's absence at the hearings (something that was mentioned in the Picus Daily in the previous cutscene).
* Sarif's display shows the scores for the Detroit baseball team (most likely the Detroit Tigers). They are in the 2027 season and are supposedly playing against Montreal at 8 PM (2000).
* According to the warning screen, the lab that is attacked is the "Microchemistry" lab.
