We meet Adam Jensen, the protagonist, and Megan Reed, another main character in the Game. We are also introduced to David Sarif, Adam's boss and the founder of Sarif Industries. Megan is Sarif's niece.
Things you may want to note (may contain spoilers!)
* The news ticker at the bottom of the screen has a story regarding Baseball. Interestingly, David Sarif seems to be a fan of the Detroit Tigers, and there are several bits and pieces of the team spread around the world.
* The main newspaper story relates to the hearings in Washington regarding Augmentation. Reading the text closely, however, the story seems to be about the events that transpire during the opening level, which have yet to transpire.
* The paper mentions that Hugh Darrow may not attend the hearings. In the next cutscene, we will overhear David Sarif discussing this with his aide.
