Deborah Koons Garcia talks about "The Symphony of the Soil"

Film-maker Deborah Koons Garcia gave us "The Future of Food" in 2004, pioneering the food & farming documentary genre. She dealt there with the issues surrounding GMO (genetically modified organisms) and the power-grab of big corporations over seeds and crops. With "The Symphony of the Soil" project, she is focusing on the most neglected of our precious, and abused, natural resources. The good news is that more and more people start caring about soil and have inspiring stories to tell about land--and their inhabitants--coming back to life. Deborah was invited this week by Bay Gourmet to show an excerpt of her project at the Commonwealth Club of California in San Francisco. She talked to The Green Plate afterwards.
