This is a scene towards the end of the classic 1963 film by Elia Kazan, that was loosely based upon the life of his uncle, who was one of the many thousands of Greeks immigrants who left a life of oppression in Turkey, to start new lives in the almost mythical faraway land of opportunity called "America". This moment captures the inner emotional turmoil the lead character is feeling, after all he has been through & on the brink of entering a very alien Promised Land, which he can only express in the way that he does.
