This hard-boiled gangster epic from French Crime Film maestro, Jean-Pierre Melville is nothing short of superb on all fronts. Often obscured from view by the shadow of Melville's other brilliant films, I feel LE DEUXIEME SOUFFLE is somewhat of an unsung masterpiece. Pure cinematic excellence that is a must-see for fans of the genre.
