Deanne Lane
Deanne Lane was an Emmy Award winning journalist who joined KSDK Channel 5 back in October 1983, Who used to work as a News Anchor & also a Nightbeat Reporter with Dan Gray, In 1992, Deanne took to the streets as a Homeless person in a six-part series report entitled "People Like You and Me" This award-winning series examined the struggles of local homeless people, their options, and how they survive, Based on the Series, Channel 5 instituted a community event in cooperation with St. Louis Food Bank to collect food and clothing for area homeless, The event was called "Care Bank 5" collected 75,000 pounds of food and other items in its first year and also yielded cash donations to the food bank, "Care Bank 5" was an annual event that provides the areas homeless shelters with needed supplies.
Lane was the Honorary Chair of the "From All Walks on Life" annual AIDS Foundation in St. Louis walk-a-thon, She was committed to many other community organizations, She was recognized by many of them including the Humane Society, The Missouri Special Olympics, and The American Cancer Society, Deanne was also honored with the YWCA's leadership award and the Missouri Nurses Association Media Award, Deanne was a graduate of Michigan State University.
Before joining KSDK, Deanne was a Weekend News Anchor at WJIM-TV in Lansing, Michigan, Deanne passed away of a stroke earlier this week on January 29th, 2026.
