A little more than 4 years ago, I got my first taste of the health and fitness lifestyle. A few girls from the gym had entered a figure competition and I went for support. I couldn't believe the transformation these women had made. Their physiques were all incredible! I approached their trainer and told him that I was interested in competing. Having not really proven myself as a disciplined gym goer, he pretty much dismissed me. It was at that moment that I set out to get on stage!
After a month of following my own diet plan and gym routine, I had started to see some progress in my physique. I again went back to the trainer, who now took me seriously. I was given a restricted diet, workout and cardio plan and was to follow it for 12 weeks. On Halloween 2009, I competed in my first show! I took second in my bikini class. Second was ok but I was determined to win my next show.
My 2nd show was a week later and I won the bikini class. My competitive nature never stops and so I wanted to push myself harder. I decided for my next show that I'd compete in figure. At the 2009 NPC East Coast, I won the overall in my first ever figure contest! To this day, I can still remember exactly how I felt and what an accomplishment it was. Throughout 2009 / 2010 I went on to compete in other shows, always placing well. The same can be said for my 2011 competition season.
Another area of interest of mine is doing interviews for the NJ NPC website. I am a correspondent who interviews and chats with all the winners from the show. I also speak with sponsors and discuss new products that are on the market. It's a great way for me to stay current with products and also allow them to be introduced to others.
As you may have gathered, I'm pretty multi faceted. I love to stay busy and always welcome a new challenge. Whether it be promotional modeling, working the booth, or interviewing up and comers, I take my work seriously and always strive to do the best! Currently, I'm looking to get on stage at the 2011 Nationals.
