Ortiz was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico to Hector and Aracelis Ortiz and raised in Orlando, Florida. Passionate to become a "ballerina" and she explored her dancing talents after receiving a scholarship to The Southern Ballet Theater Performing Art Centre in Orlando.
