Twin Peaks: The Return review

Posted : 2 years, 10 months ago on 11 June 2021 07:38

Holy shit

I need a rewatch because I have missed many important plot points.

I've been watching Twin Peaks since March.

Therefore, what can I say about this season?

Episode 8 is GOAT.

But apart from that trippy experience, the entire show is confusing as hell.

I'm glad to know that Lynch managed to adapt the cult 90's series into something new and more mature.

From episode 4 on, I was lost into the huge distorted reality that built this universe.

The point is not to repeat what the characters need to do to have a better life in the town of Peaks.
We know what they were doing all this years to now. But this isn't the main point.
Even though there a few plot points whose purpose in the series I don't understand.

The story focuses more on the old pals FBI agents and the Blue Rose Project Investigations than in our beloved town. What Mayor Briggs did or said to a few people, Phillip Jeffries being a kind of teapot (lol) and the conclusion of the existence of BOB, which is a rather unclear plot point.

The end (chapter 18) reminds me of the feels I had when I watched Evangelion.

But this is more messed up in the sense that you don't know at all what is happening and why.

Yeah the past change, Diane doesn't exist here or is another person (???) And that end...

The whole plot of Judy. What the hell.

Why is it there? It's super important to the plot but only appears a few times and doesn't clarify anything. But I'm not gonna talk about Judy (If you catch my words) because it does not get us anywhere.

We live inside a dream.
But who is the dreamer?

So epic, but I couldn't understand it.

This review doesn't make justice to The Return because there's many more things going on in the show .

But, you know...

I'd better re-watch it to understand a lot more about the whole plot.
