Love It

I think One Tree Hill is my favorite show out there. I've watched every episode as it aired since the beginning. A lot of shows that I like I just can't keep up with (I have to download them all because I don't get the CW) and I end up losing track. With One Tree Hill I'm compelled to watch every one, even when there isn't a lot of drama happening. I think one of the major downfalls of the show is that the CW never knows if it's going to keep the show on the air or not and therefore all seasons have to end happily with a wrap up as to not disappoint the fans. If you look back to Seasons 1,2,3 you'll see a huge cliffhanger at the end of the season and before any of the major breaks, that is what makes the show interesting and watchable. Without knowing when it will end the cast and the writing staff don't give us as much to work with.
I do have to say that I was worried when Chad Michael Murray and Hilarie Burton left the show, I thought it would surely end everything but with a great cast and crew this show continued. I also wasn't sure how the time skip would go but that seemed to work out well too. It seems to be the death of shows when the kids go to college but I would have liked to see how that went for everyone an they hardly ever talk about it. That's the same way they are about Lucas and Peyton, they only get a small mention and it's a little weird.
I think the best part of the show are the realistic portrayals of people, relationships and families. I think it's something we can all relate to. We might not all have a masochistic father or an alcoholic/drug abusing mother but we probably know someone who does. I think the relationships these kids had with their parents were amazingly complex and intricate. I love the Brooke and Victoria storyline so much because I know families like this and I see this stuff happening all the time, it really helps people to know they aren't alone.
My favorite character is Brooke and I could watch Sophia Bush do anything. I love how complex she is without being over the top like the Blair Waldorf character on Gossip Girl. Brooke is more realistic in her approach and she's very emotional without being too fake. Sophia does a great job in all her relationships to make them realistic and also heartwarming.
The relationship of Nathan and Hailey is great and continues to be dramatic even 8 years later. I love how they are with Jamie and I think that it shows the same dynamic that Lucas had with Karen. It is definitely how I'd want to be if I ever had children. They treat him with respect and dignity and he's always been a very fun character to watch.
I love the characters of Mouth and Skillz too. To some Skillz may be over the top with his street vernacular but I find it to be incredibly realistic having known people like this. He's kind of in the background but to me he really stands out. Mouth and Millie have always been the cutest couple and I like how they are "geeky and uncool" bringing some real-life into the whole thing. I think this pairing would work in the real world and that they do a great job of showing depth in a relationship.
Lastly I'm really enjoying the addition of Clay and Quinn and the way they added a new relationship to the scene when one had been taken away. They make sense as a couple and are completely different than any of the other couples on the show.
I can't wait to see how the show ends and I look forward to seeing these actors in other roles and to see what Marc Schwan does next.

One Tree Hill review

This show is just average, has been from the start. It sucked me in at a time when I had nothing better to watch, and I have kept watching ever since, but I really, really wish they would end it already, as I feel the need to see it through to the end (like a bad soap opera), but they just keep dragging it on past its prime, which wasn't even that good to begin with. Adding Daphne Zuniga made it moderately more interesting, but she only came in once both Chad Michael Murray and Hilarie Burton left the show, and honestly, I bet most of the fans wish they hadn't left, as I know I was watching for their storylines, not anyone else.

Season 8 has way too much sappy, syrupy garbage, a lot of hugging and fist bumping, to the point of just being ridiculous. You could make a drinking game just based on taking a drink when you see either of those two things, and be drunk mid-episode. the powers that be need to lay this one to rest before they get the not-so-bright idea to fast forward the show another five years, which was, in a word, stupid.

One Tree Hill review

Story line was a 5, first five or six seasons. With normal stuff going on and nowadays its murder, jail, drugs, lying, a the cast, just isn't as good as it was. When fast forward 5 years in their lives, things should get better, not worse. The only thing good that's happened is Brooke got married. Basically, with all the crap going on the show, just waiting for a volcano to erupt in the center of tree hill. Even that cant top the drama that's been going on.
