Mediocrity

Posted : 11 years, 8 months ago on 14 August 2012 10:54

This show is plain and simple mediocre. I had to watch it because of the hype surrounding it and even then it took me until after season 8 to start watching it on Netflix. I understand that the show is supposed to be more about the people than the medicine but it annoys me that storylines are dropped when you don't know the outcome of some of the patients. The show always seems to cut out when things are dramatic with the patients and it kills it for me.
Everyone loves the storyline between Izzie and Denny and I would have to agree because Jeffrey Dean Morgan did such a wonderful job in the role. I never really fell for Izzie.
Dr.'s Shepard and Grey are ANNOYING. I don't think they are a good couple and they are the least interesting part of the show. I don't see how a show can have a lame storyline with it's main characters. I could care less what happens to them.
I think the best characters are Cristina Yang (Sandra Oh) and Owen. They are the best, most realistic couple. Callie and Arizona are an accurate depiction of a lesbian couple. I like that Callie's parents have problems with her lifestyle and Arizona's accepted her for what she was. That is real and interesting.
Eric Dane does a great job as the manwhore with a heart. You feel for him and he's a great actor.
In general there is too much that I just don't care about. I think I would like to see more about the patients and I want to see the tough conversations, I want more REAL drama and less of the surface stuff.

Grey's Anatomy review

Posted : 12 years, 7 months ago on 9 October 2011 08:04

This show just drags on and on. Meredith Grey gets more and more annoying, her waffling idiocy about which man to be with, etc. Initially, I liked the show...well, enough to keep watching, but, after a while, it took a specific mood to be able to endure more than an episode or two in one sitting. They killed off a couple of my favourite characters, got rid of another, and somehow, Ellen Pompeo's character gets all kinds of guys, and she's just a neurotic mess, who isn't all that attractive, and looks anorexic. I don't get it.

Miranda Bailey is a good solid character. Some of the episodes are very well written, others are just one step up from soap opera crap. Which, while awful, are hard to stop watching, that's for sure. So I cannot stop watching, but I sure wish they would finally put an end to both this show, and it's spinoff...so I can finally stop.
