Gargoyles review

Posted : 3 years, 10 months ago on 12 June 2020 07:52

I just watched all '3' Seasons. I can see why people address the cartoon as only 2 seasons. The first 2 seasons were so good - a lot of 'adult' themes as in relationships and feelings. The third season focuses on the Gargoyles becoming members of New York and people understanding that they live among them. It's such a great cartoon one that I loved growing up and so thankful for Disney + so I can re-watch it again!

Gargoyles was not for little kids it has some adult jokes. like a gargoyle says hes kinky. and another gargoyle says wanna make sparks fly. and it has swearing like hell. and its very vilonte a gargoyles palms start to bleed. a gargoyle shoots a girl with a gun and shes seen laying in a pool of her own blood. all the gargoyles die in one episode Broadway gets shot. and blue stone bronx angela and brooklyn get burnt to ash on screen. and the main villain kills his son onscreen.

This show was one of the greatest things on TV as far as disney went when I was growing up. It was impressively done, involving, and had one of the most well written villains in recent memory. Also, Goliath may have the single most amazing voice ever heard.

Enjoyed it thoroughly growing up.

Gargoyles is the one TV show from my childhood that's always stuck out for me. Everything about this show was simply awesome to me back then, but re-watching it now I can see why it was so great.

As stated before, the voice acting was simply superb, there was not a single voice actor in the entire cast that I did not like. Keith David brought Goliath to life, there was simply no other person who could've done a better job than him.

I enjoyed (and still do) the darker tones of the Gargoyles TV show compared to the tones of the other cartoons airing around the same time. The show's dark mood is what helped to draw me in, it was so different considering Bonkers and Goof Troop were flanking it on the afternoon block.

I agree wholeheartedly with SuperSpongy.

Not only was the voice acting fantastically casted, regulars and cameos but for a kids show it was more grimey and dark.

The obvious weakness of the gargoyles created that human error about their fantastical being. Their reliance on others was truly an aspiring narrative theme.

I will miss it!

In the city

This was a great show that was well made and dark with nice animation from the TV Disney studio. Good story about bringing the gargoyles into the future, but from there, where do we go? Crime fighting around the city, friends with a few locals, but always in danger of being shattered when they turn to stone when the sun comes up.

Unfortunately I think this was too serious for kids.

Keith David's voice is great as Goliath.
