Family Guy review

Posted : 3 months, 1 week ago on 27 January 2024 02:12

I consider this show my favorite by far. I mean, I know it has lazy and random humor, but ngl, I think it mades the show funnier. Also, I love the talent behind this show thanks to the voice cast and also Seth MacFarlane is such a talented person. Btw, the characters in this show are great, specially I like Peter Griffin the most. But yeah, like every show dad had been produced for too much time on tv, it starts getting down, so my favorite seasons are 1 - 10, specially the first 4 seasons. Anyways, I think Family Guy is such a incredible show, my respects to all the people involved on this show.

Who the hell doesn't like this show? Oh wait, yeah I forgot about the prudes, but still it's great. I mean you have to be a commie to watch through any given episode and not laugh even a little.

Sure it might be a rip off of The Simpsons, but it's a better rip off. From day one to present day they've been making top quality episodes. Can't say that about The Simpsons.

I mean Seth MacFarlane is a funny guy. He knows how to take almost any situation and make it funny. He is among one of the few comedy writers that can do that aside from Trey Parker and Matt Stone.

Sure it's mostly dick and fart jokes, but let's face it: that's the kind of humor that most people like.

Indeed lucky there's a family guy!

With 'Family Guy', it is indeed lucky there's a family guy! Seth MacFarlane has created many cartoons but 'Family Guy' is his best! It features a family guy Peter (Seth MacFarlane) and his family.

There's his wife Lois (Alex Borstein), their obese son Chris (Seth Green), awkward daughter Meg (Mila Kunis), genius villain baby Stewie (Seth MacFarlane) (who wants to destroy the world) and their alcoholic talking dog Brian (Seth MacFarlane)

Just because there's a talking dog doesn't mean it's kid friendly! 'Family Guy' has been criticized for ripping off 'The Simpsons' which is kind of true but 'Family Guy' comes up with its own jokes and plots! Although the families are very similar;

Homer (Dan Castellaneta) = Peter; the overweight fathers
Marge (Julie Kavner) = Lois; the thin mothers
Bart (Nancy Cartwright) = Chris; the idiot sons
Lisa (Yeardley Smith) = Meg; the daughters
Maggie = Stewie; the violent babies
Santa's Little Helper = Brian; the dogs

But 'Family Guy' has some great episodes and is a great show! Like 'Futurama' or 'Beavis and Butt-head', it's show popularity earned it a second life! I wish they never stopped! I can't wait for September when the Simpsons and Griffins will cross pairs and the episode will guest star the actors on 'The Simpsons' (unlike that cameo where Homer has a different voice actor when told he's not wanted in Quahog)

'Family Guy' is also popular for its cutaway gags, my favourite is where Peter is left alone and turns the house into a giant puppet! (watch the episode and you'll know what I mean), overall, I love 'Family Guy', it's a great show!

Very funny show! The characters are lovely in their own ways, and it consistently stays pretty good at making fun of modern ideologies. Some of the episodes are not as good as the specifically brilliant ones.

Absolutely hilarious. Nothing is funnier, more original, or cutting edge than early Family Guy.

This show was WAY ahead of its time and didn't garner a big enough audience to stay on the air. Only from re-runs on Adult Swim did the campaign start to get it back on the air.

The rest is history and Seth MacFarlane has become a very famous, wealthy man. Nothing he's done, though, can top these early episodes. They're absolute gems.

It has finally jumped the shark.

Most people say that Family Guy has gone downhill after season 3, but I disagree. Seasons 1-8 was the golden age of Family guy in my opinion. Season 9 wasn't great, but it had it's moments. I actually liked the season 10 premiere episode called "Lottery Fever" despite it's flaws, but after that it started to go downhill. The first half of "Seahorse Seashell Party" was just a goldmine of unfunny jokes and the second half was just unnecessary drama started by Meg. "Screams of Silence: The Story of Brenda Q" was where I thought Family Guy went too far. It was supposed to be an episode focused on domestic abuse with some dark comedy into the episode, but the whole thing was in poor taste and almost all the jokes fell flat on their faces. (The Iraq Lobster joke was kind of funny.) After those episodes the season had a hit or miss impact on me. It had a good number of bad and average episodes, but it had a decent amount of good ones to keep my 8/10 rating. Season 11 is actually worse than the last one. So far it only has one good episode. The jokes for each episode keep getting worse and worse. I'm starting to wonder if the new writers of the shows are manatees. (If you didn't get that South Park reference then I recommend seeing that episode, since it's a great satire of Family Guy.) I usually don't change my rating just because a show is going downhill, but I am so appalled with what this show is turning into that I don't have much of a choice. Despite the fact that some people are saying The Simpsons is going downhill, I am still able to get more laughs out of their new episodes than most of the recent episodes of this show. Right now I'm on episode 8 of the latest season and I might just stop where I am because I doubt the show is going to get any better and the show is just not worth keeping up with anymore. Should've ended while it was still good.

March 29, 2014 Update: I decided to change my listal rating back to 8/10 because I still love seasons 1-8 and I just realized that it isn't fair to change my rating just because the show isn't good now. Just because the show sucks now doesn't make the older episodes bad. I also made the choice to resume watching the Family Guy episodes I haven't seen yet a month after posting this review. I did see a few good ones, but most of them sucked. Why do I still watch Family Guy if the show sucks ass now? Because I kind of enjoy finding out how the next episode is going to suck and because the next episode I see could be a good one.

From season 1-3 it was hilarious,...But now it's just a load of dog crap or horse crap or even cat sh*t 'n' piss.

McFarlane has become greedy and stupid like Groening, they are just to damn greedy and let money come before the comedy.
