Your thoughs on Energy Drinks

Energy drinks have 14 sodas worth of caffeine; which can potentially lead to dangerous health problems such as rapid heart beats, tremors and insomnia. -__-'

It's possible it may be true. I once drunk 3 Red Bulls within a 5 hour period (long trip) and felt like my head was about to implode. It took me almost 12 hours to come down off of that "hi" or sugar rush. Currently I avoid at all costs.

Half a can of Redline will send you flying. Personally, I'm a fan of Monster Energy drink. The green one and Big Black.

daaaaang, i bought over $240 worth of energy drinks...and it was well worth it. it's awsome. huh lovers hate?
Deleted user

engery drinks are awesome it's also addictive, with the poeple who can't handle it DON'T DRINK IT!!! Monster and Rock Stars rule!!

energy drinks rock but they can be very harmful. you can get energy from pastas and bread too.^^
Deleted user

mmm pasta. now thats also good, i'll just cut back on that stuff and next time i'll just buy $150 worth:)

You guys must be pretty dedicated athletes then. Why else would you need such intense bursts of energy in your diet!?

Energy drinks = essential staple in student living.

....
i like gatorade, if that counts then yeah.
if not, then i don't like energy drinks, they're a waste of money.

Aye, energy drinks are quite addicting. But still dude, they're pretty bad. I mean, energy drinks have become popular with both teens and adults alike because of their claim to increase stamina and mental and athletic performance, but people know that they're pretty bad for you. So why drink them on a daily basis? And should there be an age limit? 0__o
Gatorade isn't exactly an energy drink, it's more of a kool-aid kinda thing.

Gatorade is an energy drink, and it even works as stated.

Really? Wow, Where have I been ? ! 0__o??
Never knew that, thanks for telling me though.

I thought it was kinda obvious what with everyone in sports from little league all the way up to the pros drinking it. It's not called the thirst quencher for nothing.

I used to drink energy drinks on a daily basis, and all I got was more tiredness. It really did nothing too me, but make me tired.
Deleted user

Ha, well I'm not exactly the highest cloud in the sky ^^"
True, energy drinks are terrible.
Age limit?

then just stay away from the stuff if u can't handle it, it's only for the people that can afford it and use it everyday, and yes it give u a rush, and it's only bad if u don't use it right.
the $240 worth of drinks i got...well... it was pretty much worth it,really. even my friends liked it.
but sometimes people just drink just to be cool, that ain't good, but i share mine with my friends.

It's not that I can't handle the suff, I'm just concerned. It's not dangerous only for some people, but for everyone, you know.
Deleted user

Hm...I think energy drinks are okay but, like all things, in moderation. Personally I hate the taste, and when I'm going to get my caffeine I stick to black coffee. Sugar and caffeine doesn't do it for me...and Red Bull and Monster are just nasty!
However, as tartan_skirt pointed out, they are pretty much necessary for students!
I don't think energy drinks are that serious a concern compared with alcohol or other substance abuse...but I suppose we'll see in the future.

Aye, that is also true.

Drink one whole can of Redline and tell me they can't be dangerous.
Deleted user

Never heard of redlie o__0

Don't worry about it until you're 18 then.
Deleted user

wow u guys are serious...oh well, u guys have fun.

Redline is damn serious.
I always stay away from Red Bull and all that crap, 'cause when I was a kid, my parents told me "It stunts your growth"
hehe. Anyway energy drinks aren't anything special. The only energy you get is from caffeine, all other stuff is just tastes.
So in something like Redline there would be 70% of caffeine... I guess. That's why it's dangerous.

Guarana has also been shown to excaerbate productivity. In large enough doses atleast.
Deleted user

I think their ok in moderation
Deleted user

.

I've seen Guarana in shampoo (?) like Adidas. I tried washing with it, I felt fresh :)
Caffeine and Guarana are almost the same thing, but when both are mixed, it's freaking more dangerous than just 1 of them.

Energy drinks really aren't that neccisary, though it does help if you have to stay awake on a long drive...or you could just take a nap a couple hours before you have to go. Pastas are a good source of energy if you eat them the night before a game. Stay away from the artificial energy, and create your own. ;3
Me, personally, I stay far away from energy drinks. If I'm this energetic without sugar or caffine, I'd probably explode from the first sip. No joke.
My brothers have thought about buying me 5hour energy or an energy drink just to see what would happen to me. Its really not funny..hehe.

u mean u'll go nuts like on a rampage. :)

You'll probably go into convulsions before you do anything else.
Deleted user

i have a energy drink once a month i have not had any problems yet
Deleted user

just wait, u will:)
Deleted user

i have been doing it for 3 year so i don't think so:)
Deleted user

ok nevermind then, but still the stuff is cool to use, i just hate after taste thats all.

The combination of the caffine, guarana, and the awful taste make for an unstable boost. Not to mention the crash felt afterwards is terrible. But if you need your energy, you need your energy.

well its your on opinion if it taste bad or not i personally think all energy drinks taste delightful and i dont really feel a sugar rush i just drink um for the taste

I've gotta be honest, I've had one energy drink, a green or a purple Monster at Projekt Revolution, and man, did that thing kick me up, no crash, no headache, nothing, just pure energy 10 minutes after chugging it, which lasted for a good 5 hours or so, then it came back 2 hours later, completely awesome,
As for energy drinks every day, that could(and probably will) Kill you or increase the rate of heart attacks when you get older or some jolly uplifting gift of that sort(Sarcasm)
(Gatorade is a thirst quencher/electrolyte, it is hardly on the same level as other energye\ drinkes in that it doesn't use the ingredients they use, it's more of a... quarter or half energy drink XP if I remember at least)

I have been wondering if the soft drinks (Mountain Dew, Sprite, Coca Cola, Pepsi, Mirinda) and all of that are considered as energy drinks?
As some of them do contain caffeine (but in very small amounts), but are they still considered as energy drinks? Completely? Partially? Not at all?

I barely have them but when I do i get realllllyyy hyper^^

Sodas are not energy drinks. Although caffeine has mildy addictive qualities. it doesn't serve any real purpose, I don't think. Perhaps its used to make soda extra fizzy.

Caffiene is a drug used for mostly medicinal purposes, but soda uses it for addictivity, they use it, it's harmless to most of the population, it makes the drinker crave more, thus putting more money into soda companies
Purely Business reasons XP
Energy drinks contain stuff like Guarine and various other odd things

I've run a marathon and I can tell you the hardest part isn't the wall, or the last mile, its the mile around all the various energy drink stations. The ground gets soaked with spills and dregs of energy drinks. The ground becomes sticky, so much so its like running over glue!

Haha @ Nonfictionguy
They probably drink energy drinks at every mile, isn't that considered as cheating? 8-)
Oh ya Yama, that's what I thought, XP I'm addicted to Mountain Dew, I tell myself it's 'cause of the taste, but no, it's 'cause of the caffeine xP
Anyway we're going offtopic here.
Some energy drinks have a very nice taste by the way, you don't feel the caffeine that much. But that's hard to figure out which are the ones that have the taste more than the coffeine. You gotta experience it yourself, but don't put yourself under pressure, you might end up in hospital. Soda just makes you feel dizzy if you overdrink it, but Energy Drinks have the caffeine.
Oh ya yama it's
G-U-A-R-A-N-A and it looks spooky -_-
and our beloved Caffeine (not)

Yes, Desert Punk. Rampage of Doom and Destruction. XD
My brother is a soda-holic. He can't get enough of that stuff. He works out and stays fit, but he cannot live without soda. Some of you may know him as Adrenaline Junkie. Addiction alert XP
Wow, sasaki, Guarana does look pretty freakish. Look! It's our beloved caffine! XD

Caffeine is not beloved xS. Didn't you read the (n0t) ??
Sheesh. Anyway, I'm not a hyper addict either way, nor Energy drinks, nor Soda's, nor both! I only drink Soda from time to time when I am in the mood for it.
And that is it! Over! lol
So, anybody else got any thought on energy drinks?

Caffiene has no flavor or color, which is part of the reason some water bottlers put it in their water. But thats another discussion.

(I thought caffiene adds a yellowish color to things... lol)
Guarana scares me, eyebally looking, they'd make nice Halloween decor though
Caffiene looks like a bunch of hamster terds :P

I drank a RedBull one time,....that was the day I broke my record of running around my entire house in less ten seconds,...AND I beat the whack-a-mole game at Chuck E. Cheeses !!!!
