Quentin Tarantino: I totally agree with @thenoah. I want a gangster movie by Tarantino, something filmed not only in US but in Italy too, with Christoph Waltz, Tim Roth, Harvey Kietel, maybe Robert Downey Jr?? It would be epic.

Sofia Coppola: an action movie. It would be interesting to see her view on such a topic.

Pedro Almodรณvar: a story that happened in the 19th century, in Spain, or during Franco's government.

There are other directors that are higher on my personal list than these; such as Hitchcock, Eastwood or Burton but these are right up there, too. Besides, I can't think of anything at the moment that I would like to see the aforementioned work on.

Peter Jackson: I'd love to see Jackson tackle a series of films on Roger Zelazny's Chronicles of Amber. The series is legendary among sci-fi lit fans and Jackson's proven he can handle grand, sweeping sagas and ensemble casts without even breaking a sweat.

Hollywood has it's fair share of talent these days. The series centers around a royal family all vying for the throne and there's plenty of action, magic, swordplay and modern-day stuff, too. Adrien Brody, Ryan Gosling, Ben Foster, Bale, Butler, as well as, Kate Beckinsale, Rachel Weisz, Lena Headey and Cate Blanchett would all be superb here. Of course, a cast this size would depend on budget/salaries a great deal, too.

He would be perfect to bring The Dresden Files to the big screen. There was a short lived TV series based off the books but (while it was fun to watch) it diverged from the true essence and scope of the book. SS would be great for that. Or Simon Green's Nightside series. He could channel that same magic that went into Raiders, Jurassic Park and Jaws.

I think Johnny Depp would be perfect for the Nightside's P.I. character John Taylor. As for Harry Dresden, I'm thinking of Ryan Reynolds; the guy's got the chops and I believe it would be a perfect fit.

Ridley Scott: The guy can do epic action/dramas, war and sci-fi/horror like no one else can! He would be ideal for bringing Michael Moorcock's classic sci-fi character Elric to the screen or Fritz Leiber's Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser.

Chris Hemsworth would play Fafhrd and Jeremy Renner the Mouser. Both have proven they can handle action and these two characters were supposed to be the greatest swordsmen alive. As for Elric, I had in mind Michael Fassbender.
