How many films does it take you to make up your mind whether you want to add them to your favourites list and see more of their work? I tend to see a minimum of 4 films before I decide.

Yeah I agree 3 or 4 is good for me. When I started liking Christian Bale, after I watched The Dark Knight, I watched The Machinist and American Psycho and was really really impressed with him, and now he is my favorite. Same with Ellen Page, I watched Juno, then Tracy Fragments, and An American Crime and now she is my favorite. So i would say 3 or 4 is good

There have been times where i've felt I could do it in three, but as it's like my personal rule, I wait until i've seen four to be sure.

Could depend on the actor too, with Al Pacino I was impressed within two movies. Hes very impressive

Usually I can tell within 2 movies that I really like an actor. But I like to go rent any movies I can find with them in it once I've decided that, so usually I end up watching 4 or 5 before I add them.

For me it depends more on the performances, rather than the number of roles I've seen them in.

For example, I didn't think much of Benedict Cumberbatch when I first saw him in a small role in Atonement, but years later I caught the first episode of Sherlock and thought he was absolutely brilliant. As good as Robert Downey, Jr. As good as Matt Smith is as The Doctor.
