XML Export errors

Moderator

I exported my collections to XML with Listal's Export data.

After I saved the files on my PC ("right click save as to save"), I tried to open them with XML Viewer 3.0 on WinVista.

I managed to view some of the files, but others gave error messages like "A semi colon character was expected" (All books), "White space is not allowed in this location" (All DVDs, and All music).

I tried Excel too, but those same files gave error messages.

Any help? :)

Wow, I didn't know you could save your collections in your PC.
Is there a specific way to do it?

Sadly on topic as you guess already, I don't know to answer your question....

@SweetShark

1. Go www.listal.com/user/export

2. Right click one of the links

All movies
All TV
All DVDs
All books
All music
All games

3. Click Save as.

Then your browser will download the XML file with your collection in it.

I did that. Problem is, there were errors when I tried to open some of the files.

@The OP

I did that as you said and thank you for that.

But I don't understand something. It is only to see the code or to see it like you see it in the site Listal?

I am a bit confused...

The files contain the titles of the movies, games, etc., your ratings, your notes, links to pages on Listal...

Have you managed opening the files you saved?

I will try and take a look at this after the new site is released

Thanks a lot, Tom!

One more thing when you are at it. Some items lack a "Default image", so they show no icon on "export lists" like

www.listal.com/user/export/games/

Problem is, we can set the "Primary image" for an item, but we cannot set the "Default image" when it's missing.

I've just exported my Listal collection of "Art" items as an XML file.
www.listal.com/user/export

Then I tried to re-import the same file,
www.listal.com/user/import
(Import Listal exported xml)

but I only get

Import complete
Added : 0 items
Updated : 0 items

I also tried removing the items in my collection before re-import, but all I get is 0 added 0 updated.

Chrome and Firefox34

When I download .xml files, my username is no longer being placed before the ".xml" file name for each collection xml file. And most importantly, all files are being downloaded messed up. For example, one movie xml file should be 800kb, but now it is only 300kb, and when I open the .xml file, they are displaying items that I never added, that are not mine. :(
Its like I'm downloading xml for another user, but I'm clearly dealing with my account.
I make .xml backups almost every day, it always worked until now. :(
Anyone else experiencing this?
