Wizards, Vampires, Werewolves...What's next?

The_Dash08 15 years, 7 months ago at Sep 29 16:49 -
I usually don't like books that get major hype. But Harry Potter and Twilight are in my top 10. What's next for fantasy?
becca85 15 years, 7 months ago at Sep 30 15:46 -
Who knows...elves...dragons...etc.?

Fantasy is my favorite genre, but I'm still quite limited in what I have read and need to get out there and read more fantasy.
The_Dash08 15 years, 7 months ago at Sep 30 16:12 -
I love fantasy. Some of my favorite authors are K.A. Applegate , Spider Robinson, and Orson Scott Card. Anything by them is worth reading. I'm hoping for time travel or a new twist on aliens. I have'nt read The Host yet, but the storyline is new to me.

What about the inheritance saga?
By Christopher Paolini
The_Dash08 15 years, 7 months ago at Sep 30 18:08 -
the movie was ok, couldn't get into the books. I very rarely like mideval type fantasy books. But we might be due for a new spin.

Wizards, Vampires, Werewolves...

The next will be....

*drumroll*

Humans!

These underrated creatures will be the next big thing to hit it big!

Yeah, Vincent's right.
I was just going to say.. but then I read his thing..
So anyway, that was a pretty good series.
The movie fucked it up though. It was terrible.

Hmm.

1. Vampire Academy. (Richelle Mead)
2. Inheritance Saga. (Christopher Paolini)
3. The Animorphs (though a bit on the sci-fi side, they are pretty cool). ( DUnno the author..)
4. Why not go to a library? (For books you haven't read)
5. You could always read up on Greek mythology. (Very fantasy-esque)
6. Spiderwick. (Goblins, elves, giants..) (I forgot the author's name ._.')
7. The Artemis Fowl series is good. (Fairies!) (Eoin Colfer)
8. The Night Huntress Series. (Jeaniene Frost)

And those are just a few of the ones I've read. :)

Major hype. considering you liked twilight. will be some overhyped, fairly lame and poorly written book about gay shapeshifters.
No. I'm serious. there will be gay shapeshifters, it'll be so highly controversial, every teenage girl will throw themselves on it, cuz it's so taboo, this will cause the book's sales to skyrocket, and the lucky writer will be rich.
Unfortunately, I don't want to write about gay shapeshifters, so I'm gunna have to miss out on that money maker to continue the whole twilight obsessed fan crap. XD

But, that, or a Succubus/Incubus influx of writing.

Zombieland was a really cool movie with zombies...fun and kinda scary .
i am soooo sick of vampire and werewolves books. i totally agree with WyrmSlayer. I think it`s time for Humanity to come back in the spotlight.

indyB 15 years, 4 months ago at Jan 10 2:47 -
Drogons and Zombies are the next big things. Soon everyone will be walking around with 'Team Brain-Eating Zombie' tee-shirts on. Trust me.

The next big thing will hopefully be the book i'm writing write now. The Battle For Earth.
The book in a nut shell is about Bill a cop who lives in a small Washington town in told that he has to save the world of a demonic apoclypse by sacrificing himself. Elizabeth a seriel killer has to redeem herself in the eyes of god is told that she has to destroy some of the more powerful demons, and Samuel the president of the United States has to get back to Washington to declare world peace before we destroy ourselves.
My book though has more then just humans, Necromancers join the party, sorcerress also join in, werewolves, vampires, psychics, etc...
There is a little bit of everything in my book and hopefully that is why it will be the next big thing...

Back from a long absence.

Sesonal Memoirs thanksfor the list i'll look thoseup once i finish an old series i'm finally finishing Everworld. (short but good books)

I think zombies are too gross for overhype, or hype period.

It seems like we are heading back to mythology. Extreme twisted mythology.

How about gargoyles for mermaid/men for the next fantasy crush. It's a tough call. I just recently wrote a ghost type fantasy, but it still might be considered a paranormal.

I want a book about aliens!! But not those ugly aliens invading the planet, just aliens living their lives, that would be cool:)

What came next was the literary mash-up genre, like "Pride and Predjudice and Zombies" and "Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters." The first few were okay, with surprising thematic additions to beloved authors' texts, but the trend has really become overdone now. I don't need any more of those kinds of books.
Gaby 14 years, 5 months ago at Dec 6 18:58 -
Zombies are cool too.

I've noticed a ridiculous amount of books about Angels lately.
