Wide images as profilepics?

Why can't the wide pics be profile pics,it wasn't a problem before,doesn't it fit the new layout?

Since only portrait pics were supposed to be chosen as profile pics on the old site, I welcome this move. It's just a shame there's no way to stop the use of full length shots too.
