Ina:I know I spelled it wrong. But I can't wait to have Chemistry This year but Next school year in 9th grade! What grade do you disected a frog? I know I saw a seinor disected a Clam today.
Xeil 16 years, 1 month ago at Apr 17 20:51 -
i disected a cow eye for 2nd grades in Biology last trimester. but Chemistry is amazing. its my favorite class of all time and i'm going to college to major in it.
but frogs aren't disected in Chem., you'd want Biology or something of that nature.

chem is fun and so is bio. I remember I dissected a shark once. Wasn't easy. Nothing but cartilage to cut throuh.
Xeil 16 years, 1 month ago at Apr 17 21:11 -
that would suck, but it would still be fun, right?

Get off of dictionary.com VV. In fact, while you are there learn where capital letters and punctuation fit into a sentence.

When we disected a bull's eye in Biology, the guy on my bench almost cut off his finger because he was such a mug. He had to have a tetnis jab and everything. He weighs about 30 stone now! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Xeil 16 years, 1 month ago at Apr 17 21:13 -
how much is that in pounds?

Seaworth 16 years, 1 month ago at Apr 17 21:20 -
According to google, 420.

Cuting up a shark was more fun than cutting up a frog. I poked its bile sack and got some in my eye. Do you know how much that burns? It's horrible, and the smell. Not good.
Xeil 16 years, 1 month ago at Apr 17 21:58 -
oh my freakin' god...that's amazing!!
not the good amazing, you know.

I didn't know they dissected animals in Chemistry, it seems more of a Biology thing to me. Though we did do various parts of sheep and cows as well as a delightfully frightful looking cat in Anatomy. For me Chemistry has always been a rather dreary affair of atoms that loved other atoms a bit too much. But their loving bonds would never be equal and constant tedious balancing of equations would arise.

i don't really like the subject of chemistry
but i like chemistry between me and guys!!!
Devious Phenomenon 16 years, 1 month ago at Apr 18 3:17 -
Biology was fun, we dissectd a frog... me and my partner had fun cutting it's head off, other then that we didnt do much to it lolz(I am not the one who did it, HE DID IT!!!)

Chemistry will be fun... the bill for blowing yup the school... won't be so fun lolz!

Lolz candi rofl
candidancer93 16 years, 1 month ago at Apr 18 3:19 -
yeah im not into the whole dissecting thing so yeah...
Devious Phenomenon 16 years, 1 month ago at Apr 18 3:21 -
I didn't like it either... plus... the group next to use kept screaming whenever they cut the frog... it as distracting...
candidancer93 16 years, 1 month ago at Apr 18 3:22 -
yeah i screamed it was disgusting ewww and it smelled horrible
Devious Phenomenon 16 years, 1 month ago at Apr 18 3:25 -
Lolz, they screamed every 10 minutes though... and it wa a group of 4 girls screaming at the same time... ouch... still feel the pain... and it was a semester ago!

Frogs sound better than cats. But I think my favorite was the sheep's heart. Oh fun fun fun. I think I was making more holes than finding them.
candidancer93 16 years, 1 month ago at Apr 18 3:26 -
i i dissected frogs in 8th grade
Xeil 16 years, 1 month ago at Apr 18 10:46 -
yeah, my friend Nate broke three test tubes and a graduated cylinder in the first week of Chem. he's such a clutz.
yeah, the coolest thing i've dissected was the cow eye i mentioned earlier. once you cut through that tough ass cornea, the contents just fell out. the 2nd grades loved seeing me give my lab partner crap about the eye jelly ^^
he wouldn't touch it so i picked it up and almost threw it at him.

Well, dissections are clearly something covered by Biology, what is this thread about again?
Xeil 16 years, 1 month ago at Apr 18 21:20 -
i think Chem, but then dissecting got mentioned and i think we all went off topic, me probably being the worst...sorry ^^'

im taking chemistry honors next year ^.^
DefenderOfKnowledge 16 years, 1 month ago at Apr 18 23:01 -
I'm taking Chemistry at a community college currently. I love it.

PV=nRT, yall!
candidancer93 16 years, 1 month ago at Apr 18 23:07 -
oh thats cool
yeah i like science a lot
im just not to crazy about the disecting
DefenderOfKnowledge 16 years, 1 month ago at Apr 18 23:12 -
Dissecting is crazy fun. Just the other day, I dissected a pig kidney.

But anyway, dissecting is not apart of Chemistry, so let's get back on topic.

How about this, what is something interesting that you learned in chemistry that you didn't know before?

I learned why coke goes flat when it is left open, but not when it's in a closed bottle. Because it's carbonated, it constantly puts off CO2. When you bottle it, it keeps creating CO2 until the space in the bottle is filled with it. Then, the pressure of the CO2 pushing down on the coke, and the pressure of the coke trying to let off more CO2 equalize, and the coke stops letting off CO2, because it won't fit anymore in the bottle. Then, when you open it, the CO2 rushes out of the bottle, which is why it sometimes hisses when you open a bottle. When you leave an opened can out, there's no trapped CO2 to stop the coke from putting out more CO2, and becoming flat.
candidancer93 16 years, 1 month ago at Apr 18 23:16 -
oh i knew that, well i havent learned anything im in biology which im not even supposed to take as a freshmen because it is advanced or something

My Chemistry teacher managed to teach me more Spanish than Chemistry, and I didn't learn much Spanish.

The only thing I can really remember that wasn't Spanish were the moles we had to make. Apparently a mol is a unit of measurement used in Chemistry and as a result we had to make mole plushies that had puns in their names or something. Mine was Sailor Mole. It's quite beautiful really.
DefenderOfKnowledge 16 years, 1 month ago at Apr 19 16:55 -
Moles are 6.022 x 10^23 molecules, or atoms, or whatever units. It still confuses me to this day.
Xeil 16 years, 1 month ago at Apr 20 14:21 -
its atoms.
i'm going to college for a Chemistry major.
spiegel 16 years, 1 month ago at Apr 20 23:15 -
I wuv Chem. Good ol' gravimetric stoichiometry.
candidancer93 16 years, 1 month ago at Apr 20 23:23 -
i love geometry and im good at it so i get chem honors!!
