The grudge, the Ring, the gate, down of the dead, what else?

Ju-On, the original Japanese version of The Grudge (The One True Grudge), is the scariest film I've seen since The Shining. And it delivered its scares without a load of CGI nonsense* and pretentious director's wankery - just a woman who makes a funny noise, and a boy painted white, with a mouth that looks as though he's been condemmed to suck lemons throughout his living death. Genius. Oh, and having the death kid turn up in the one place kids think they're safe from such things...

*which is why, say, the remake of The Ring can fuck off, with its overly CGI'd woman pulling herself out of the TV, complete with TV static look. Compare that effect to the original, and you tell me which one works.

Sorry to be a grammar nut but "horrifiest" isn't a word.
