10 years, 8 months ago at Sep 10 15:16 - Apart from the error messages discussed in other threads when we try to add people, I see some issues in the new "Add item" procedure when it comes to adding new actors, actresses, film directors....
Fact is, Listal instructions say we can use any web page, but if I try the IMDb profile about an actor or actress by searching for that URL in Listal, I get a *movie* instead.
For instance, actress Cay Forester's URL on IMDb
www.imdb.com/name/nm0033692/?ref_=tt_cl_t8
leads to Hatter's Castle (1942), a movie, on Listal!
Besides, and more importantly, seems to me that the suggested procedure for adding people should be altogether different for actors, actresses and film crew. I mean, Listal should recommend that users add a movie or TV show from IMDb with that person in it, and the person will be automagically added to Listal database, instead of adding the person from any web page! Thas way, and thas way only, we are sure we can keep the link between movies, TV shows, and the cast and crew featuring in them, because when we import movies from IMDb we use the same cast & crew naming conventions as they are in IMDb.
