Just watched "Satantango"; 7 hours of insanity and misery

"Greed", sort of...I missed an hour in the middle. This was the 'restored' version shown on TCM. It's about 9 hours long.

Oh man, I fucking love "Greed". The restored version (four hours long) is all that exists. The rest is lost
Sometimes, I think "Greed" may be the best film ever

Fanny and Alexander is the longest one I've watched on one sitting. I've also seen Berlin Alexanderplatz, but it took me a couple of days to finish it. (It's about 15 hours long.)

I think it was Hellboy.

lord of the ring but I didn't even realize that it was that long

Cowboys and Aliens? Maybe it just felt like the longest.

Gone with the Wind (238 minutes), although Dances with Wolves director's cut (236 minutes) would be longer if you removed GWTW's interludes.

My favorite movie Greed.

You got taste brother, you got taste

I think Lord of the Rings here too.
Anything with Johnny Depp in it seems too long, but my girl insists on watching them too :o.

It was the Solaris of 1972. It's not the longest movie I've ever watched but it seemed to be at that time. I was around 20..19 years old (?) and really struggled to get the depth and the meanings and had to watch it 2 times to grasp everything..if you can do that with this kind of movies. I also remember the end scared the hell out of me.. It is in my list with films and books to watch/read again after many years have passed. At that time, an hour seemed an eternity.

"Solaris" is actually fairly long. It's a little under 3 hours, if I recall. It's basically about defining humanity through the eyes of others. I've always found it fascinating. In addition, it's a spectacle of pure visual beauty, with some rather poetic moments. I don't remember much about the end; didn't he just go back home? I'd definitely give it another shot
You might want to check out some of Tarkovsky's other films. "Andrei Rublev" is one if the most ahead of it's time films ever made, it just overflows with ambition. It also has the most violent scene ever, of a village raid. "Stalker" is really weird, but it's the most beautiful, poetic, and meaningful viewing experience I've ever had

Lawrence Of Arabia nearly 4 hours oif, closley followed by Lord of The Rings - and if you speak of all three of the Rings films, well that was around 11 hours.

My favorite movie Greed.

'1900' is 4 hours long and definitely worth a look.
