What got you interested?

How did you become interested in the paranormal?
When I was 2 or so and my Mom and I had troubles finding a home, but finally in Hesperia we moved to a home that was haunted. I don't remember much, but @ night the house got crazy. For me when I was a kid I began believing @ a young age when things began happening in my room when I was 12 (We had moved to another location by then). Frames falling, toys moving, etc.
My Mom and I experience things every other day happening around us to this day and we're also very much into the paranormal shows and stuff like that.

The older ones in my family were always telling stories about strange things they saw, ghosts, orbs, floating tables and so on. It terrified me but as I got older, I became more interested.
Then I started listening to Coast to Coast AM with Art Bell. Very interesting radio show.

Theres a series on the Sci-Fi channel that got me facinated by it called Chost hunters I believe

I have a ghost in my house. I've always been interested in this kind of weird, occultish kinda stuff.

"How did you become interested in the paranormal?"
No one particular thing, I don't think. But I do like the idea that there's more to reality than the material world we're so obsessed about, and the thought that the world we perceive is only a part of a much larger whole, and perhaps not even a fundamental level of relity, is quite a compelling one. Besides, there's a huge body of evidence in favour of paranormal phenomena of various kinds, and this certainly can't be ignored.

We have a couple of things of that nature in oz. Try Googling "Yowie", "Bunyip", "blue mountains panther"
I used to talk to ghosts when I was a child. I have visions and hear things and shit. I could be a bit mad too.

no one ever believes me even no's i try to give ppl a 2nd chance they still treat me bad...'_'

King, what kind of visions? And hearing things?
Cause I've kinda "heard" things before. The last few weeks, I swear someone has been saying my name everywhere I go. Now that you mention it, it hasn't happened in a while.....
Also, this one time, I was walking down my hallway at night so it was dark, and I passed someone going down to my room, and I thought it was my younger brother, but then my younger brother was in the bathroom....so that was kinda creepy. And it wasn't my older brother because he is like a foot taller than me, and whatever walked by me was my height, like my brother. I could just been tired.

The visions are difficult to explain. It's things just appear in your field of vision briefly like you are dreaming, but awake. Sometimes if I close my eyes I see spirits or symbols like it is a message in visual form. Or I hear a voice or get a feeling. I think it is a normal phenomena it is just most people suppress it because of societal beliefs and prejudice. Also because of it's association with insanity. I think in the case of say schizophrenia, people get a barrage of voices, visions etc that they can't get a handle on and have no knowledge or tools to deal with it. It depends on your spiritual beliefs too I suppose. Some churches and religions have a better handle on it than others.
Many people will tell you they have had some contact with spirits, ghosts or someone in the afterlife as it where. I think that is a pretty common experience.
Ino if people treat you bad they are probably not worth your time. Find more people who treat you with respect and stick with them. If you maintain respect for yourself and be true to who you are you will find others who will respect you too. If you think you are "psychic" well it's possible you may be. Psychic sensitivities are just another part of us as natural as smelling coffee or going for a walk. It is just some people are more sensitive than everybody else just like somebody is good at kicking a football and somebody else excels in math and science. It is only when society puts a fear and a stigma into it than it becomes a problem

i'm startin to not like ppl!

I got interested because somehow when I drink tequlia I end up with no clothes so I assume a ghost must have taken them.

ok

Ino you don't have to post in every thread!

Miss Ella that phenomena of which you speak may well be related to spirits...

Do these "spirits" call themselves "alchohol"?

I see living people. That's plenty bad enough, without having to see the dead 'uns, too.

*quotes Simpsons shirt:* "I SEE DUMB PEOPLE!"

-LOL- That's funny man!

Anyway, has anyone ever personally witnessed something that was undoubtedly supernatural? Not like "The picture randomly fell", I mean like "I watched the doll's head turned toward me."

"I'm not interested in normal humans. If there are aliens, time travellers or espers among you, come and find me."

I can only assume that came from Jim Carrey?

Tell me about it. And he typed 7 "n"s and 8 "o"s. 1 of each pal, no spaces in between, there you have it.

I have had some crazy, crazy dreams. The type where you're awake in your bed, but you can't move. Everything starts shaking, and you have no control over it. It's like some Nine Inch Nails song, where things get louder and louder until finally - silence. You're at the same exact place, but awake this time. A nice chill usually comes over you, and you get up right away because you KNOW you're going to dream the exact same thing again.
I have to say, these dreams are freaky. They're certainly not normal.
I have to say, these dreams are freaky. They're certainly not normal.

I've had a few crazy dreams as well, but the one that really made me believe in paranormal was one I had about 6 years back. What's freaky about that dream is how much i remembered it, and the apparent significance of it.
Back then, I was engaged to a girl and I honestly believed everything was going well (though no wedding date was ever set). And one night I had a dream. Basically, I was in some sort of library, and for some odd reason, I was trying to look up books about my fiancee. I don't know, maybe subconsciously, I believed things were a bit off between us. But then I found the book i was looking for, something was making me drawn to the book. Hard to explain. But as I started flippin' thru the book, you know how in certain libraries, you can see thru the shelves to the other aisle? While I had this book open, a book that in my dream I was getting a vibe that there is SOMETHING in that book I must read about my fiancee, I heard a deep breath of someone and I looked forward and I saw this almost completely featureless dark entity staring directly at me from the next aisle, and I remember it so vividly because the 'thing' had bright red almost glowing eyes and it just stared and stared at me.
Thats when I woke up, and I dont think I ever did this before, but I actually woke up screaming, and I remembered the dream so well which normally never happens to me.
It freaked me out, but I didnt 'read' into it, but less than 2 weeks later, I found out she was having an affair with a co-worker and my life (at the time) fell completely apart (we recently had bought a house, and needless to say, it ended on very bad terms). So was this something in my subconscious trying to warn me? Anyways, needless to say from now on, when i get cryptic dreams that I remember in the morning, I put a bit of effort to see if I can decipher their true meaning, if any.
just like scientists 'believe' that there has to be life out in space because otherwise, what would be the point of all those billions upon billions of solar systems out there, I believe that there is something more to our existence and soul than just flesh and bones that die and decompose. There has to be more. Parallel worlds, afterlife, paranormal, whatever it is, I believe it does exist.

^ That's foreshadowing if I ever heard of it.
I guess I don't have any reason to believe in the paranormal other than my feeling that something drives the universe, whatever you want to call it. There's just so much emptiness in looking at the universe as nothing but a wide expanse of empty space with planets revolving around stars every now and then.
