VHS?

For old school collectors (or lazy people) like myself, is there any way to allow for VHS entries? If you try to add a code for a VHS item under DVDs, it tells you it's an invalid item.

Another vote for VHS and Betamax and cassette tapes and vinyl records and NES games and 8-track and Atari games...
I think the four categories should be Movies, Books, Music and Games. Then there could be sub-categories or tags for each type of physical media. It would be way cool to see people list their old Amiga and Colecovision games. Or maybe find someone who has a song on a roll for an old time player piano!
I better stop before the list gets too long :)

I am not to sure about cassette tapes, but vinyl records and VHS I'm down for.
That would make Listal even more different than other services. You get man formats, not just the most popular ones.
I guess, since maybe Amazon, iMDB, and some other places don't list VHS and other formats, there might be a need to let users personally input data of their own colection not found on-line.
Heck, we should be able to trade them too... start up a listal auction site for crying out loud!

Actually amazon do sell vhs and it would be pretty easy to add it. I originally had it in an earlier version but removed for simplicity and I didn't think there would be much demand.

For now, I've had to just add the movie that I have a VHS cassette of and add a tag to each one stating its format (VHS, VCD, DVD, DVD-R, etc). Just a quick way for me to add a "note" so I know where to look for a movie. In a box of cassettes in my closet, or in the binder of DVDs.

This is my only problem with the site so far, the lack of a VHS category. (I'm an anal-retentive completist, so having one section of my media library unavailable for organisation is abnormally aggravating. :P)

If Listal had comic books it would be the koolest.

I have only a few pre-recorded VHS tapes, but I have vinyl and LaserDiscs.
As for games, what about board games? No OS needed!

I forgot to mention D-VHS and the upcoming HD DVD formats. And I do believe back in the day that a few movies were released on 8mm tape! I bet there's a few of us who have collection of vintage 78 RPM discs too. Wax cylinders anyone? (Not that they'd be allowed out of the house!)
