User Ratings Update

Can the site update the average user ratings on items, people and everything else so we can see how many ratings have been added?

Will the average user ratings be updated within the morning or afternoon?

Go to the forum front page then use "Most points total" that will tell you the most recent uploaded stats.

I think the update has to be manually done i dont think its automatic

Please can you post an example of a item where the rating is wrong?

Transcendence still has a rating of 10 based on 1 user rating, but in the past two weeks about 20 have been added.

I see "5.8" based on 23 ratings.

It's been almost a week since the user ratings have been updated, so can this be done?

Points are not soo important, agreed. Average movie ratings by users are important, though.
Leo explained it with an example in this thread, a year ago:
"Transcendence still has a rating of 10 based on 1 user rating, but in the past two weeks about 20 have been added."
(average rating was updated since then, but take it as just an example).

Please update because example: The new film "The Man from U.N.C.L.E." still has a score of 7.5 based on 4 user ratings, but almost 30 have been added within almost three weeks.

Two weeks have passed so update time!

Krampus still has a score of 2 based on 1 user rating, but almost 20 are added in the weeks since its release. Update please!

Tom, is it possible to have weekly updates on the ratings to better portray an accurate perception of movies. Seeing that you can filter lists by their rating and the number of ratings, I too, think this is important.

It's been months since the ratings have been updated. Example: the rating for Jasmine Tookes is based on ratings from 76 users. However there are really 148 users who have rated her. James McAvoy's rating is based on 720 users voting but a total of 836 users have actually cast their votes for him.

Can these ratings please be updated to accurately reflect all the user votes? Thanks

Is there really no possible way of making this automatic?

I am fairly new to Listal and only use it off and on but I was surprised to see how many ratings for films, people, fictional characters, etc. have not been updated to reflect their averages especially after what seems like several weeks at least from my perspective XD however, on some voters I have noticed what seem to be multiple accounts that could possibly be from just one or two other users since they seem to: vote similarly with the exact same ratings, only stick to certain things to vote on, and have no profile pictures and eerily similar names LOL so maybe before updating the Mods and Owner are trying to determine which are sock accounts so they do not factor those scores in to either inflate or bombard certain pages. But, that is just my theory.

I have also noticed the ratings on people in particular have not been updated for quite a while, on one model is suggested 22 people had rated her at an ave of 8.2, when i clicked on her ratings there was 62 ratings at an Ave of 8.8, so it looked like the rating had not been updated for months. Perhaps this a lot of work for Tom but its a bit of a shame if you have a ratings system that its not updated fairly regularly.

Further to my above if the site offers a rating system, should it not keep it updated, just randomly taking say Maddie Teeuws she is showing as just over 30 ratings which her score is based on but in fact when you click on who has rated her its well over a 100, and this is the same for nearly every one i have checked they either have double or triple the amount of actual votes?

I've updated the ratings, the reason why it didn't display all the ratings before was that it required people to have rated 50 pages to be included in the total count, I've removed this requirement.

Hi Tom thanks for the update. I do agree its not a bad idea to have a certain amount of ratings before it gets displayed, otherwise you could have hundreds of people with 10 because of one vote. I guess its a case of trying to find the right balance, never easy.

I used to be all for the ratings to be updated regularly but its unfortunately not with it. nofinalaccount hit the nail on the head over two years ago, see the post above.

If you are going to continue with the rating system, which as we all know is now being spoilt by all the cheating going on, could you at least remove the loads of 1/10 votes being dished out especially to Nicola Cavanis page by the fake accounts supporting another model (we all know who that is!!). This would at least correct her rating.

pdw55 beat me to it! I was wondering if ratings are effected if an account (real or fake) is deleted, or is it permanent, like a vote for a picture?

Does look like the 1/10 ratings dished out were removed which is good to see. The steady stream of fake 10/10's boosting a certain models rating continues, this has raised their overall rating from 8.6 to 9.0 - thats a lot of effort over 5 months for 0.4 of a rating though !!

Bumping this up since it's more than three weeks following the last update

It's not worth updating it anymore as too many fake ratings have taken over the site. 8 months since first reported the fake 10/10 and 1/10 votes still continue.

Bumping it up since its been a whole month now.

It was something I advocated a while back, but have discovered due to the spam voting going on its no longer worth updating.
