Yes lists are deleted and most things except non profile pictures added and forum messages are marked as deleted but the message content is still there.

isn't it possible to let lists stay when someone gets deleted? just think of the loss for the site if lists from top contributers vanish because of a deletion of their creators. you could let them stay like with forum messages. with a "Deleted" profile name.

It would be bad but it's the same with sites like youtube if they delete their account all the videos will be gone.

There is a warning at the moment listing the number of items that will be deleted. I guess I could add an option in account deletion to choose if lists should be deleted or assigned to the deleted name.

I can imagine a reason people delete their profile is to delete all of their contributions to the site. It wouldn't be fair to keep it on the site if they're not around to police it any more. Just my thoughts, as I can't see any reason why someone might delete their profile otherwise.

well, i see Grand Assaults concerns, which make sense. nonetheless i like Tom's suggestion with giving users a choice to let their content (or at least lists) on Listal, when they choose to delete their accounts.

I don't know if it's possible or too complicated to do, but maybe, if the problem is that the user wouldn't be able to police the list, maybe the user could choose another use to take care of it. like "donate" the list to another user....
