I grew up with corporal punishment and I don't think that I turned out too bad.
Personally I don't wrong with it if it's used correctly and proportionately to the offense committed.

yea i was spanked only when i did things that almost put my life in danger and was told why i was being spanked so i grew up fine...not thinking that my parents were abusive at all as they themselves hated raising their hands against me o.o

Definitely shouldn't be done in excess, but there's always a time and a place.

The main issue with me is I would find it very difficult to do, as most parents probably do. But I've seen other kids through all my years of schooling who've been royally screwed up by their parents' denial over them, thinking there's nothing wrong with their child and blaming everyone else for disliking them. So maybe I'd punish my kid in ways I don't foresee... But that's a good amount of time away, so I guess it's all just guesswork at the moment.

hmm it makes sense but in a way....wont that teach the child that wat they did was not really wrong. I mean like if u spank only when reallly necessary then the child might learn that it was inappropriate
